  • 1 Hospital chapel

    Built in 1704, thanks to the profits of a woollen stockings factory, it remains a worship place. Its decoration is typical of the 19th century.

  • 2 Sainte-Claire chapel

    Saint-Claire's chapel is Gothic style. It contains only a single nave. Over an old gate, there is a very beautiful oculus. It is originally the chapel of a convent reserved to the weathly girls of the city.

  • 3 Trachin chapel (14th century)

    Trachin Chapel is the town's oldest chapel, dating from the 14th century. It can be visited by request.

  • 4 Sainte Marie chapel

    The last vestige of Sainte Marie Convent, built in the XVIIth century.

  • 5 Varagnes domain

    Magnificent property having belonged to Marc Seguin. There are a large park, a greenhouse with mural paintings, a chapel, laboratories, a library, an observatory..., all register as Historic Monuments since 1992.

  • 6 Notre-Dame church

    The church dates 1912 ( 1904-1912 ). It was previously situated place de la Liberté, since 584. It was destroyed to leave more space to the market and to facilitate the traffic.

  • 7 Grenette square, its fountain and grain market

    This square is created in 1480 to leave more space to the market, place de la Liberté. Here will take place from now the grain market. The fountain dates 1726.

  • 8 Mayol square

    In Mayol square, you can see an ancient house of the 16th century adjoined by a tower (monogram on the balcony), and a very beautiful door studed in parecloses. The tower confers it a small medieval charm.

  • 9 The castle door

    Remains of the 1105 castle, you can catch sight of the the carved door which allowed to reach the enclosure of the castle as well as the door of Bourgville, a little farther.

  • 10 Colonjon tower

    The Colonjon tower, just like the Martyrs tower, is one of the last vestiges of the old ramparts of the city.

  • 11 The Hospital tour

    The Hospital tower framed the primitive hospice, dating 1686. The chapel and the tower, date 1704.

  • 12 Martyrs tower

    The Martyrs' Tower is one of the last remaining parts of the former town walls. It can be visited only from the outside and dates from the 11th / 12th century.

  • 13 Commemorative plaque of the 1st hot-air balloon flight

    This plaque reminds that in this square, place des Cordeliers, took place the first flight of a hot-air balloon on June 4th 1783 by the brothers Etienne and Joseph de Montgolfier.

  • 15 Boissy d'Anglas statue

    Boissy d'Anglas bronze statue, illustrious Protestant lawyer appointed by the inhabitants of Ardèche to sit in the Constitution, was inaugurated in 1862.
